We look at our client's wellbeing as a whole, at the heart of our client's wellbeing is making sure their primary carer is well supported.

We have advisers based in communities throughout Northland who are a long-term point of support. Support is given regardless if a client is cared for at home or in a residential facility.

Our advisors are the dementia experts for Northland, helping families cope with the challenges presented by dementia:

One to one support over the phone and in person, offering expertise, practical knowledge and support.

Support groups for carers, sharing experiences and helping people to know they are not alone.

Home carer seminars offering carers further understanding of dementia and tools for coping with everyday challenges.

Weekly respite through our day programmes sessions.

Education

We want to support and inform all those affected by dementia, whether it be staff in a rest home, a carer looking after a loved-one at home, or an organisation.

Understanding dementia can be the difference between a positive journey and one with conflict. We run sessions for people caring for loved ones at home to help gain more knowledge around dementia and offer up some strategies to help with those daily challenges and hurdles. We also offer education sessions to:

  • Professional care providers
  • Companies and businesses keen to be more dementia friendly
  • Community Groups and organisations

If you would like to discuss an education session for your organisation Get In Touch or see our session timetable.
